Once again, Quantbot was invited to MIT’s Traders @ MIT Trading Competition, as a part of Schonfeld’s sponsorship, held on the weekend of November 8-9 in Boston. Michi Botlo attended the event as Quantbot CEO, and he spent the two days meeting students from across the country that came for the event. We started the weekend with a Schonfeld-organized billiards competition at Lucky Strike on Saturday. After the fun, Sunday was the day of the competition and the students stayed busy, and got to enjoy a lunchtime networking session with Michi. At the end, students had a very fulfilling weekend and we were able to give our swag away to some bright future traders!#swag
Global colleagues from Hong Kong, London and Code Willing coming to our NYC office means Company Outing time! We had a great time getting to know each other over drinks and abundant food.
In our continuing tour of NYC university campuses, Quantbot visited the Columbia Masters in Operations Research Program on November 4 to introduce ourselves and the company to interested students. After Michi gave an overview of Quantbot and Quant Finance, Ashar spoke about how to be a quant and what aspiring quants should focus on during their schooling. As always we loved hearing the prescient and thought-out questions the students asked afterward, and their enthusiasm for the profession and the company.
