Pizza and Ice Cream Social!

As August, and summer, slowly comes to a close our interns will inevitably depart for new academic years or adventures ahead. While most of our interns are still around, we threw a casual pizza and build-your-own-sundae night. It was great to see our interns, strangers to us and each other a mere three months ago, comfortably mingle with their teams and Quantbot employees. As interns complete their projects we hope they can take the experience and accomplishments from this summer into their future successful careers.

A big thank you to all our amazing interns this year 👏

You can’t be in NYC without getting some NY style pizza!

Squash in the City!

It’s always a surprise to see the businesses that can fit in a NYC skyscraper. In a nondescript office building in the middle of a nondescript Midtown block with barely any signage, there happens to be a top-of-art squash facility 5 floors in the air. Who knew? Thankfully Quantbot did, and that’s where we had our latest intern outing. Interns faced company employees, and each other, to see who’s squashing was the best. Some went all out, while others ate and drank where squash happened to be playing. Either way it was fun!

Dumplings, Pizza, and Knishes…Oh My!

This week our summer interns had the opportunity to go on a walking history and food tour of Lower Manhattan. Starting at the African Burial Ground National Monument, we then walked through Foley Square to get to Chinatown, where we stopped for our first food stop, fried dumplings.

Starting the tour in front of the African Burial Ground

Crossing over Canal Street, we walked through Little Italy, and after a sit down pizza break, we continued the tour toward the Bowery and the Lower East Side, where we tasted knishes from a Jewish bakery that’s over 100 years old. In each neighborhood we learned about the lives of African, Irish, Chinese, Italian and Jewish immigrants in NYC, their trials and triumphs moving to a new home and how they in turn shaped the city and the country.

Finishing off our tour at a German beer garden, we hope the interns got a chance to see and appreciate some of the many iconic neighborhoods New York has to offer. At the very least they certainly got plenty to eat!

Enjoying Sake Once Again!

On April 11th, members from Quantbot attended the annual Joy of Sake event at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Members got the opportunity to try traditional and new types of sake along with some amazing food from local NYC restaurants. They all had a great time at the event and can't wait to attend next year.

We still got it! NBCC Women with Balls Fundraiser 2023

On October 3rd, Quantbot Technologies’ team of talented bowlers came back stronger than ever to participate once again in the annual National Breast Cancer Coalition’s Women with Balls bowling fundraiser.

This annual event aims to raise money for breast cancer research while providing a fun-filled night for the various teams. Quantbot was able to raise $3600 to support the organization and one of our team members, Shrinath, won Highest Score while bowling!

We are looking forward to next year’s NBCC fundraiser and events in the future to fight against breast cancer. For more information about NBCC and to donate to their cause, click here!

This year's spectacular team!

Squash is Back!

On July 13, Quantbot had our first squash night since 2019 at Open Squash. With such a wide range of experience, we luckily had professional trainers coaching us through the basics. We love friendly competition and playing squash was no exception! In the end, we had a great time and are already looking forward to our next squash night.

Let the coaching start!

Quantbot Intern Game Night

Last week, the new Quantbot office hosted a game night for the first time. Employees and interns enjoyed a night of pizza and poker, with some FIFA thrown in on the side. It was a great event getting to mingle with our interns while also enjoying some fun competition. We are already looking forward to planning our next game night as the summer days continue.

Did Someone Say the Joy of Sake?

It’s the most sake-iest time of the year. Quantbot once again enjoyed delicious food, a preponderance of sake, and wonderful cocktails (sake in a negroni, who knew?!) at the annual Joy of Sake on Friday, June 16th. Luckily many of our summer interns had the opportunity to come, along with many of the yearly regulars. We love attending this event every year and can't wait for the next. Kanpai!

Spin it to Win it

Last night, our Quantbot interns headed to Spin to attend Schonfeld's Farewell Intern Event. With internship projects slowly wrapping up, it was a great opportunity for our interns to hang out and engage in friendly ping-pong competition with interns from Schonfeld and other quant groups before they all head back to their respective campuses this month. There was an informal tournament, and one of our interns was on the winning team! It was a fun night and we thank Schonfeld for inviting us.
